Nana Ama Morton, one of the pioneers food vloggers in Ghana, has urged her colleagues in the space to also consider the health of people in their content.
In a Facebook post, Nana Ama who has observed a lopsided attention for entertainment over health in the field of food vlogging, has admonished content creators to strike a balance for the two.
“Dear fellow food vloggers and content creators, while we entertain our audience with our eating experiences, let's also prioritize our health. Balance is key,” she wrote.
According to her, in a fast-paced world of food vlogging, it's easy to get caught up in entertaining one's audience with the latest food challenges, indulgent meals, and travel dining experiences without paying attention to other pressing concerns.
She believes food content creation should balance enjoyment with health. Food vloggers have a significant influence, inspiring audiences to try new recipes and cuisines. With this influence comes the responsibility to promote healthy habits.

Her message highlights that showcasing food doesn’t mean neglecting wellness. Instead, it involves making conscious choices and demonstrating that we can enjoy food while leading a healthy lifestyle.
More food influencers are integrating health-conscious themes into their content by featuring nutritious recipes, sharing mindful eating tips, and exploring wellness trends.
This approach not only engages viewers but also portrays influencers as genuinely caring about their followers’ well-being. This shift makes food content more relatable and valuable, especially as audiences become increasingly health-conscious.
Following Nana Ama Morton’s example, creators can authentically combine enjoyment with health, making a positive impact on their audience.
