Chief Executive Officer of Emigoh Ghana, Stephen Eku, has pledged to donate three months of salary to his team if they replicate their impressive performance at the JoySports Invitational 2024 in next year's edition.
Organised by JoySports, the event received support from sponsors including the Minerals Commission, McDan Group, The Luckiest, Skechers, Emigoh Ghana, Peeva Beverages, and Caveman Watches.
Emigoh Ghana, producers of Yomi Yoghurt, finished as runners-up in the football tournament, securing silver among the 29 organizations that competed on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Following the medal and trophy presentation, Eku, who had already donated his October salary to the team, promised further support.
“Teams have already approached me saying they want to sign you. I want to say I really appreciate the energy and effort you showed. Thank you very much,” he told his team.
“And next year, we’re going to win it. If you bring home the victory next year, you’re getting my three-month salary.”
The men’s football competition was one of 15 exciting disciplines featured at the tournament, which included events like CEOs' and ladies' penalty shootouts, a women’s 50m dash, men’s 100m dash, and tug of peace.
The next edition promises to be even bigger and better.
