The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC hosted the annual National Farmers' Cocktail on Monday evening at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra.
This is for the 2024 Award Winners and other key stakeholders within the agricultural sector, including government officials, Staff of ADB, and other sector players.
In a heartfelt address, Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Eno Ofori-Atta, on behalf of Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu-Tali, the MD of ADB, emphasised the critical role that farmers and fishers play in ensuring food security and economic stability in the nation.
“This is a very special evening for us to welcome and honour our distinguished, hardworking farmers and fishers,” the DMD stated, commending their relentless dedication and contributions to the agricultural sector.

The event, held as part of the weeklong National Farmers' Day celebrations, served as a platform for networking among stakeholders in agriculture, including policymakers, executives, financiers, and farmers among others.
“Our continuous sponsorship of this programme,” Madam Eno Ofori-Atta noted, “is a testament to ADB’s commitment to supporting our gallant Farmers & Fishers and our founding mandate to provide financial intermediation to the agricultural sector.”
As part of the bank’s sponsorship package, ADB will present a significant prize of GHS GH¢1 million to the National Best Farmer at the upcoming awards ceremony on Friday, November 8.
The Managing Director expressed gratitude and anticipation for this significant accolade, which recognizes outstanding achievements in farming and fishing.
With the theme for this year’s National Farmers’ Day, “Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security,” the Managing Director underscored the importance of adopting innovative practices to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change head-on.

The DMD reaffirmed ADB’s commitment to investing in agricultural initiatives that adapt to these challenges, improve food security, and support job creation for the youth.
“Trust your Bank of choice, ADB, to continue to lead the charge in financing food production and other post-harvest activities.
The Deputy Managing Director concluded by wishing the government, the people of Ghana, and all award winners a successful National Farmers' Day while inviting everyone to the 2024 Farmers’ Forum on November 6th and the Awards Night on November 8.
