Black Stars Head Coach, Otto Addo, has taken full responsibility for the team’s recent poor performance and acknowledged shortcomings in key areas of the squad, the Ghana Football Association has said.
Otto Addo was summoned to provide a detailed report to the Executive Council on Wednesday, after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to the Ghana FA, the head coach presented a comprehensive 56-page technical report which was interrogated by the Executive council and regional chairmen of the Football Association which the head coach responded.
The Ghana FA, in a statement released on Friday, disclosed that Addo, outlined plans to address these challenges, emphasizing the need for a disciplined and accountable system that fosters trust among players and staff.
The statement went on to say, “Addo also highlighted the importance of establishing a clear and recognizable playing philosophy moving forward.
“The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Regional Football Chairmen, shared the nation’s disappointment with Addo.
“They echoed the widespread desire for the Black Stars to deliver better results, particularly in the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
“Addo was informed that the GFA plans to engage in further consultations with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive strategy for the national team. This approach aims to create a sustainable path to success for the Black Stars.”
The GFA reiterated its commitment to holistic decision-making for the betterment of Ghana football.
