NDC's Parliamentary candidate for Tema Central, Ebi Bright is happy with the Supreme Court’s decision to quash re-collated results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and two other constituencies.
According to her, she is excited that their confidence in the law has borne fruit and that they are ready to continue their work.
In an interview with JoyNews outside the court, she stated, "We are happy that our confidence in the law has borne its fruit, and we are happy to go and continue.”
The now-quashed results had declared the NPP candidate winner after the initial version saw her announced as the victor.
This ruling directly challenges the controversial re-collation conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) and the subsequent declarations made for the affected constituencies.
On the back of this, Madam Bright added, "I think that this experience equips us to be able to represent a lot better, I think that it is important that everybody understands that this is just the beginning of our work."
Ebi Bright also expressed her gratitude and extended festive wishes, "so we are very grateful for the opportunity, and also, we want to say to Ghanaians and our constituency, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."
