The highly anticipated second edition of the Ghana Comedy Awards is set to take place this May, and expectations are soaring for an event that promises to outshine its spectacular debut in 2024.
Launched amidst glitz, glamour, and unstoppable laughter, the inaugural edition on April 20, 2024, solidified the awards scheme as a premier event in Ghana's entertainment calendar.
With some of the biggest names in comedy, including Clemento Suarez, OB Amponsah, Lekzy Decomic, and Jacinta, taking home prestigious honors, the night was nothing short of historic.
This year, organisers are pulling out all the stops to celebrate comedy on an even grander scale. “We’re looking forward to an unforgettable event,” says Dennis Boateng, CEO of the Ghana Comedy Awards. “There are exciting projects and activities planned to honor comedy in diverse ways, including special events spotlighting women in comedy, industry legends, and the sector as a whole.”
The big question on everyone’s mind remains: will Lekzy Decomic retain his crown as Comedian of the Year, or will another standout talent rise to claim the title? The suspense is building, and only time will reveal the outcome.
As the countdown begins, fans can look forward to updates and announcements leading to the big night. Get ready to laugh out loud and celebrate Ghanaian comedy at its finest this May. Stay tuned for more details!
