Angry National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the Effutu constituency of the Central Region, have set the party's office equipment ablaze.

The angry supporters stormed the Effutu NDC Constituency, broke into the party's office, brought out the office equipment, and set them ablaze.

Addressing the media, their spokesperson, Angela Mensah stated that President John Mahama has failed to include their 2024 Parliamentary Candidate, Dr James Kofi Annan in the ongoing appointments as he promised during the 2024 campaign period.
According to her, the two-time Effutu parliamentary candidate had supported the party a lot and it was time for President Mahama to reward him.
They stated that President Mahama, who was the then-presidential candidate promised Dr Annan an appointment if he won the December 7, 2024 general elections.
However, she stated that up until now, no appointment has been given to their parliamentary candidate.

She said the party wants President Mahama to appoint Dr Annan to serve in his government as he has single-handedly improved the NDC in the Effutu constituency and avoided any violence in Winneba.
There have been reports of disagreements among some NDC supporters in other parts of the country over the lack of appointments for their preferred individuals.
