Musician and band leader of The Greatest Band, Serah Sarah, has revealed how social media has helped the band thrive in this digital age.
Speaking on E Vibes: Musical Band Series, she shared that social media has been a major source of inspiration, encouraging the band to create songs they once thought would be difficult to produce
“Social media can’t be ignored. It has helped us. Because of social media, YouTube, TikTok and others, I can always go back to get songs because not every song is easily covered. You need to see how somebody has done it. Sometimes when my band members bring songs and it seems difficult to do, we go to the internet and if it’s been done, we also get motivated to do it."
She further stated that social media is helping younger discover the origins of some songs
“Since we also started to be active on social media, the younger generation get interested and get to know songs that came a long time ago that have been re-done and they get to know that there is nothing new under the sun. So we are trying to tell young people that before the current genres, the was the one that came a long time ago.”
E Vibes Musical Band Series is dedicated to celebrating and highlighting the incredible journeys of musical bands in Ghana, showcasing their triumphs, challenges, and the bonds that keep them together.
The idea is to delve into the stories of these talented groups, exploring their humble beginnings, their rise to fame, and the obstacles they've overcome along the way
