The African Trade Chamber has welcomed the appointment of Mr Michael Harry Yamson as the Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).
As a key member of the African Trade Chamber’s steering committee, Mr Yamson brings a wealth of leadership experience in promoting sustainable economic growth and strengthening trade relations across the continent.
His expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and policy implementation will be crucial in ensuring that the DACF fulfils its mandate of equitable resource distribution to local governments.
With a strong background in financial management, the African Trade Chamber is confident that Mr Yamson will enhance the allocation and utilisation of funds, ensuring resources are effectively directed towards development projects in all districts.
Given that transparency in fund disbursement has been a longstanding challenge, he is expected to strengthen public trust and ensure that funds reach their intended beneficiaries.
In addition to his role in the Trade Chamber’s steering committee, Mr Yamson brings a broad network within the business and trade sectors, which will facilitate partnerships between local governments, private entities, and international organisations, fostering inclusive development.
The African Trade Chamber is confident that he will lead the DACF with excellence, integrity, and innovation, driving sustainable development and improving the livelihoods of millions across the country. Currently, Ghana has 261 District, Municipal, and Metropolitan Assemblies drawing allocations from the Common Fund.
The African Trade Chamber is a leading pan-African organisation dedicated to promoting trade, investment, and economic development across the continent.
Through targeted advocacy, policy development, and strategic partnerships, the ATC works to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and contribute to Africa’s sustainable growth.
