All is set for this year’s SEDAT HR Conference slated for 27th March 2025 at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi, in the Western Region.
This year’s theme, “From Policy to Practice: Integrating Employee Well-being in HR Management for a Motivated and Highly Productive Workforce” focuses on employee well-being's critical role in driving productivity and engagement within organisations.
It will focus on prioritising the well-being of employees, who are the backbone of organisations. Participants will learn practical strategies and skills that they can immediately implement to integrate well-being initiatives into their daily organisational practices. We expect this to foster a culture of care, motivation, and productivity within organisations.
According to the World Health Organisation, depression, and anxiety result in the loss of 12 billion working days worldwide each year. Addressing these issues is vital for creating healthier work environments.
Prominent speakers at this year’s conference include keynote speaker Ing Joshua Mortoti, CEO of Vortex Resource Ltd and former executive vice president and head of West Africa Region for Gold Fields; Kwame Afreh, Head of Human Resources, Tullow Oil Ghana; Hussein Edward Abugri, Former Regional HR and Projects Manager, Newmont Mining Corporation, and currently an HR Advisor at Merian Mine, Suriname; Felicia Opoku-Folitse, Business Psychologist, HR Strategist, and Head of Human Resource and Administration for TAQA Ghana; and Emmaline Datey, HR Strategist, and Founder and CEO of ICS Africa Limited.
Others are Dr. Ian B. Quamina, Certified Employee Assistance Professional and Head of Clinical Services at Families in Action, Trinidad and Tobago; and Tarek Dessouki, Chief Regions Officer, American International Certification Institute (AICI), Founder, PHC Forums, Global HR & Business Consultant.

The conference, now in its third edition, will focus on how HR professionals can effectively translate employee well-being policies into practical strategies that foster a motivated and highly productive workforce.
It is aimed at bridging the gap between policy development and practical implementation, emphasising employee well-being as a driver of success in modern organisations. Key sponsors and partners for this year’s conference include Apex Health Insurance Ltd., KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd., the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), HR Network Africa, and Strategic HR Professionals (SHRP).
