The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, has called on employees of the Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts Assemblies (MMDAs) to support the government in her ‘reset agenda’ to transform the fortunes of the nation.
Describing the ‘reset Ghana’ as on course, he said the ‘reset began with the technocrats’ urging them to help change the attitudes of all public sector employees, asking them to also endeavour to accept the changes that might occur from the ‘reset” processes.
Mr Antwi made the call at the opening session of a two-day Quality Assurance Hands-Holding Working on the 2024 Annual Progress Reports (APRs) of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) held in Techiman and organised by the NDPC.
He commended the NDPC for its commitment to promoting evidence-based decision-making and transparency in the development processes, underscoring the need to discuss 2024 APRs.
Mr Antwi advised the participants, mostly key staff of the MMDAs, to take the workshop seriously and contribute to the discussions, leveraging on experience and expertise, urging them to take time, to identify and proffer solutions to development challenges.
Mr Isaac Kwesi Eweh, the Principal Planning officer at the NDPC said the Commission collaborated with stakeholders and published the Agenda for Jobs phase II programme that sought to create a medium-term development policy framework.
The goal is to create an optimistic, self-confident, and prosperous nation through the creative exploitation of human and natural resources and operate within a democratic, open, and fair society, saying the framework was designed to concentrate on six development sectors.
The sectors comprise Economic Development, Social Development, Environment, Infrastructure and Human Settlements, Governance, Corruption and Public Accountability and Emergency Planning and Response Implementation, Coordination and Monitoring and Evaluation (ICME).
