The management of Ghana Water Limited Accra West Region, wishes to inform customers in the Amasaman District of a temporary reduction in water production at the Nsawam Treatment Plant, which supplies water to the district.
The reduction in production will occur from 1st to 7th March 2025 to allow for critical maintenance works at the treatment plant, aimed at improving the overall water supply.
In a statement, the management explained that there will be interruptions to water supply across the Amasaman District during the maintenance period.
"We are undertaking essential maintenance works at the Nsawam Treatment Plant, which are expected to enhance water supply in the long term," the statement read.
The affected areas include Amasaman Township, Abehenease, Toman, Sapeiman, Pobiman, Obeyeyie, Daaresalam, Fise, Amanfrom, parts of Pokuase, and surrounding communities.
Customers in these areas are advised to store sufficient water for use during the seven-day period. "We strongly encourage all our customers in the affected areas to store enough water for their needs during this time," the statement added.
The company expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the maintenance works and assured customers that the improvements will result in a more reliable water supply once completed.
