In a statement issued on 28th February 2025, GWCL announced that the reduction in water production would take place from 1st March to 7th March 2025 to facilitate essential maintenance work at the plant.
The company assured residents that the maintenance is necessary to enhance water supply efficiency.
As a result, communities within the Amasaman District will experience interruptions in water supply throughout the maintenance period.
Affected areas include Amasaman Township, Abehenease, Toman, Sapeiman, Pobiman, Obeyeyie, Daaresalam, Fise, Amanfrom, parts of Pokuase, and surrounding communities.
GWCL has advised residents to store sufficient water ahead of the disruption and expressed regret over the inconvenience caused.
