The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has explained that the power outage experienced in various parts of the country, particularly in the Greater Accra Region, on Thursday, March 13, was due to a heavy rainstorm that occurred on the day.
In an official statement, ECG assured the public that their engineers were working diligently to repair the faults and restore power as quickly as possible.
"The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the statement added.
The heavy rainfall also led to flooding in several areas of Accra, particularly along the Ofankor Barrier stretch of the N1 Highway, resulting in significant traffic congestion and disruptions.
