She emphasised the crucial role of local companies like Softcare FM in achieving the government’s vision of industrial self-sufficiency, import substitution, and enhanced export competitiveness under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Minister highlighted that the government’s newly introduced 24-Hour Economy policy presents a transformative opportunity for local industries to scale up production, create more jobs, and position Ghana as a key manufacturing hub in the region.
She encouraged Softcare FM to embrace this policy by optimizing production schedules, investing in technological innovation, and improving operational efficiency to meet the growing demand for affordable, high-quality hygiene products.
Ms Ofosu-Adjare reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for local manufacturers through improved infrastructure, enhanced regulatory efficiency, and measures to combat counterfeit and substandard products.
She stressed that a competitive, innovation-driven manufacturing sector will reduce Ghana’s reliance on imports, add value to local raw materials, and create sustainable employment opportunities.
Representatives of Softcare FM Manufacturing Ltd welcomed the Minister’s visit and expressed their full support for the 24-Hour Economy policy.
They pledged to leverage the initiative to expand production capacity, enhance product quality, and ensure that every Ghanaian family has access to safe, affordable hygiene products manufactured locally.
