The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) has announced that it will be livestreaming all targeted stakeholder engagements as part of its review process. This initiative aims to enhance public participation and transparency in the constitutional review exercise.
According to a press release from the CRC dated March 17, the engagements will focus on various thematic clusters, with discussions scheduled between March 18 and April 5, 2025.
It added that the sessions will begin at 10:00 am each day and will cover critical governance topics such as lands and natural resources, decentralization, public services, advisory councils, political parties, the judiciary, and constitutional amendments.
The public is encouraged to follow the discussions live on YouTube and Facebook via @CRCGH25.
Additionally, the CRC has provided multiple channels for the public to submit memoranda and written contributions. Submissions can be made via: Email: submissions@constitutionreviewgh.org, Interactive Website: www.constitutionreviewgh.org or In-Person Submission: Documents can be delivered to the CRC Secretariat at the Office of the President Annex, adjacent to the Ministry of Communication, Abdul Diouf Road, Ridge-Accra.
The statement noted that the committee will continue to receive submissions until the end of its zonal engagements on May 9, 2025.
President John Mahama established the Constitution Review Committee as part of his commitment to advancing Ghana’s constitutional reforms.
The committee comprises legal and governance experts tasked with reviewing gaps and challenges in the constitution’s implementation. The members include Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh – Chairman, Justice Sophia Adinyirah – Member, Prof. Kwame Karikari – Member, Mrs. Charlotte Osei – Member, Dr. Godwin Djokoto – Member, Ibrahim Tanko Amidu – Member, Dr. Esi Ansah – Member, and Dr. Rainer Akumperigeya – Secretary.
The committee's work is to build on previous constitutional review efforts, including the 2010 Constitution Review Commission and the 2023 Constitution Review Consultative Committee.
