Ghanaian gospel singer and pastor, Nana Yaw Boakye, affectionately called MOGMusic, has urged Ghanaian gospel lovers to erase the mindset of attending events solely because of the presence of an international artiste.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes, he stated that they should show interest and attend with the aim of supporting local musicians to promote their music and help them gain international recognition as well.
“I want to encourage Ghanaians; don’t come to events because there’s an international artiste or somebody you’ve never seen before. Come because you believe in whatever your local artiste is doing and you wana support him to propel his music to the nations of the world,” he advised.
Once people inculcate such a mindset, the musician is optimistic that they will receive blessings from the event.
As a result, the 'Be Lifted' song composer has not booked any international musicians for his upcoming 2025 New Wine concert, which is slated for March 30 at the First Love Church.
MOGMusic believes that the artists billed to perform are equally anointed with the power of God and are capable of gracing the occasion with spirit-filled music.
He urges Ghanaians to purchase tickets for the event, which will help cover expenses and provide an opportunity to experience a closer relationship with some of Ghana's well-known musicians in the gospel fraternity.
He added that such events allow local musicians to connect with their fans locally as they get ample time to perform on stage.
MOGMusic assures Ghanaians to expect a power-packed show and experience at this year’s edition as artistes including Joe Mettle, Obaapa Christy, Pastor Isaiah Fosu Kwakye Jnr, Barry Neequaye, and Quame Gyedu.
