The Ghana Police Service has arrested one more suspect linked to the robbery and killing of a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
In a statement on Thursday, the police said the suspect, identified as Martin Amoah, also known as “Baba Macho,” was apprehended on March 27, during an intelligence-led operation at Kpone in the Greater Accra Region.
The statement said Amoah had been on the wanted list of the Ashanti Regional Police, and his capture brings the total number of arrests in connection with the case to four.
The police believe his arrest is a breakthrough in their ongoing investigations into the robbery and killing of MoMo vendors in the region.
Kumasi has witnessed a wave of violent attacks on MoMo vendors in recent months, with three vendors losing their lives in separate incidents.
The growing trend has sparked fear and panic, particularly as two of the killings involved the use of firearms.
Law enforcement authorities have assured the public of their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice.
The police added that the arrested suspects remain in custody and are expected to be arraigned soon to face charges related to robbery and murder.
