It is expected that music lovers and young people will gather on Saturday evening to witness musical performances from renowned music icons.
Under activities of the Ashanti Fest, a festival to mark celebration of Easter in the Region, the lined artiste will take turns to entertain their fans with music.
Musicians and musical groups such as Y-Pee, Mass Mello, Bosoma, Strongman, Seven Kiss and Allo Dancers are among entertainers advertised to stage performances on the night.
Some members of renowned Asakaa Boys namely; YGA O’Kenneth and Beetztrap loved widely by the youth of the city will be expected to move the crowd on the day.
The MTN sponsored concert which forms part of the ongoing Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council's (ARCC) Ashanti Festival is expected to create more excitement for residents during the Easter holidays.
With records of their earlier highly energetic movements and dance styles as well as their individual exciting art works, these hiplife and highlife groups are expected to bring joy to patrons of the music concert.
At the time of filing this report, the Rattray Park, the venue to host the musical concert was being set up to receive the huge numbers expected to throng in on Saturday.
According to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the idea to stage a festival was conceived after a request from some youth at a clean-up exercise.
On social media, the minister requested ideas to sustain the event for two weeks. Series of events were therefore scheduled for the ten-day event in the region.
“The whole concept of the Ashanti Festival is to bring out our various sectors, showcase what we have as a Region and see how best we will be able to promote inter sectorial support for each other”, he said.
The Ashanti Fest, instituted to mark Easter in the Ashanti Region, has entered its final lap filled with entertainment activities.
Already, a boxing night, football games and an electrifying jama competition have been held to the satisfaction of many.
Inmates of the Kumasi Central Prisons were not left out of the event, as the minister led a medical screening.
A blood donation exercise which was also sponsored by telecommunication giants, MTN was featured alongside the screening exercise that was also opened to the public.
