The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a weather alert, forecasting moderate to heavy thunderstorms and rainstorms across parts of the country today, Monday, April 29, 2025.
The warning follows an active rainstorm currently affecting the northern and transition belts.
According to the forecast, the storm is expected to move southwards, bringing increased cloudiness and potential thunderstorms or rain to coastal and middle sectors, including Accra, Cape Coast, Takoradi, and parts of the Volta Region, later this morning into the early afternoon.
Weather data shows that Accra, Kasoa, and Cape Coast have a 40% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.
Significantly, the public is being cautioned about moderate to strong winds and possible localised flooding in parts of the northern sector.
The agency urges residents, especially those in low-lying areas, to take precautionary measures, as these conditions may pose risks to life and property.
Meanwhile, the state of the sea remains rough.
