The Black Satellites kicked off their U-20 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-1 draw against DR Congo in Group C.
One of Ghana’s standout performers on the day was defensive midfielder Denis Marfo.
The Internacional player provided much-needed stability in midfield, helping to plug defensive gaps and link play effectively.
Marfo played a key role in Ghana’s 25th-minute equalizer.
He executed a perfectly timed nutmeg on Dieu Lukombe before delivering a crisp pass down the left wing to Emmanuel Mensah. Mensah then whipped in a cross that was calmly finished by Dreams FC forward Aziz Musbau.
Despite flashes of brilliance, both teams struggled with cohesion and ball retention, and the match ended 1-1.
With all teams in Group C earning just a point, the group remains wide open heading into the next round of matches.
