Ghanaian youngster Denis Marfo has received a call-up to the Black Satellites squad ahead of their 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign in Egypt.
The 19-year-old defender-cum-midfielder is seen as a key addition by head coach Desmond Ofei.
Marfo previously featured for the team during the WAFU Zone B qualifiers and also played in their international friendly against Germany U-20, a match that ended in a heavy 5-0 defeat for Ghana.

Marfo is known for his visionary passing, strength, pace, aggression, speed, and agility. A natural ball-winner, he’s regarded as a defender with a midfielder’s brain.
He currently plays for Internacional in Brazil’s Serie A, having joined from MSK Zilina Africa, a Ghanaian second division side. Despite playing in Brazil, he has remained a regular face in Internacional’s U-20 setup.
Ghana have been drawn into Group C of this year’s CAF U-20 AFCON, alongside Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic.
The competition, which was initially scheduled to take place in Côte d'Ivoire, has been moved to Egypt after the West African nation pulled out.
