The Tema Regional Police Command has launched a full-scale murder investigation following the gruesome discovery of a deceased male adult within the Tema Harbour enclave, leading to the swift arrest of two suspects.
The shocking incident unfolded on May 30, 2025, when police received a distress call reporting a lifeless body found in the harbour area.
As officers processed the initial crime scene, a parallel development emerged: a separate report indicating that members of the public had apprehended a man allegedly in possession of a human head.
Acting swiftly, police units converged on the second location, rescuing the suspect, identified as Ali Mustapha, from the public. He was immediately taken into custody.

Further intensive investigations by the Tema Regional Police Command subsequently led to the arrest of a second suspect, Zakaria Mohammed.
The body of the unidentified deceased has been transported to the Police Hospital morgue, where it awaits preservation and a comprehensive autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Both Ali Mustapha and Zakaria Mohammed are currently in police detention as investigations continue. Authorities are intensifying efforts to positively identify the deceased and establish the full circumstances surrounding this horrifying incident. The public is urged to provide any relevant information that could assist the ongoing police inquiry.
