Police Ladies' captain Mary Berko has been nominated for the Female Home-based Footballer of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards.
Berko was an instrumental figure in Police's season as they went all the way to clinch the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League title for the first time in their history.
She scored eight goals for the club in 17 games as they finished top of the Southern Zone and eventually beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the final to lift the coveted trophy.
Berko faces competition from Stella Nyamekye, Mary Amponsah and goalkeeper Annabel Bansah.
Nyame played a half season with Dreamz Ladies before sealing a move to the US to join Gotham FC. The attacking midfielder finished the season as the joint-third top scorer in the league with 11 goals.
Just like Stella, Amponsah also left the shores of Ghana in the course of the season.
The prolific goalscorer netted a season-high 15 goals to power Ampem Darkoa Ladies to the final of the league.
Despite Faith Ladies being relegated, Annabel was one of their standout performers.
The shotstopper's heroics guided them to clinch their first major silverware as they won the FA Cup title, beating Jonina Ladies in the final.
The 2025 Ghana Football Awards is scheduled for June 14, with the event expected to be live on Joy Prime TV.
