The Genesis Foundation, spearheaded by a dedicated team of 16 students from SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, has launched a campaign to tackle Teenage Drug Abuse.
The initiative dubbed ‘Washing away drug abuse’ is aimed to create awareness, provide support, and contributing meaningfully to the rehabilitation and recovery of young individuals affected by substance abuse.
According to the team, this initiative is driven by a shared passion to combat the growing crisis of drug abuse among teenagers in Ghana.
As part of their latest effort, the Genesis Foundation will be hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser this Saturday, June 21, 2025 at St. Michael’s Rent-A-Car, located near Kotoka International Airport beside Airport Shell, starting at 10:30am.
The event is open to the public, and proceeds will go directly to support The Chosen Rehab Center, a facility dedicated to helping individuals recover from substance abuse.
Through fundraising efforts, outreach events, and community engagement, “we aim to be a catalyst for positive change, empowering teens to reclaim their futures.
‘We are proud to partner with The Chosen Rehab Center, an institution focused on offering care, therapy, and hope to youth struggling with addiction.”
“We believe in the power of community and the responsibility we all share in shaping a future free from drug dependency, this car wash is not only about raising funds, but about raising awareness.”
For those unable to attend in person, contributions can still be made via mobile money to 0552787986.
