Ghanaian live music group BigShot Band GH has described their 2014 appearance at the African Music Festival in the Netherlands as one of the most memorable experiences in their career.
Speaking on the E VIBES Musical Band Series on JoyNews, the group shared reflections on key moments from their journey, including major collaborations, notable performances, and their continued passion for live music in Ghana.
Recounting their time in Europe, a band member highlighted their unexpected inclusion at the prestigious festival as a defining moment.
“So, we had a chance to perform at the African Music Festival in Holland in 2014. And that has been like the best for us so far. Others have other favourites. And we were the surprise band for that year,” he said.
The group recalled the experience as surreal, performing alongside celebrated musicians including Malian icon Salif Keita.
“It was great. We were on that stage with Salif Keita and a couple of other international artists. It was great. The audience was large,” the band member added.
The E VIBES Musical Band Series, hosted by Becky, continues to spotlight Ghana’s most dynamic bands, offering a closer look into their stories, challenges, and contributions to the country’s live music culture.
