Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School has become the first school to book a place in the semi-final of the 2025 NSMQ Northern Zonal Championship after delivering a dominant performance in the opening contest of the zonals.
The school secured 41 points to beat Awe SHS, Lawra SHS, and Regentropfen SHS in a four-way battle held in Tamale during the qualifiers.
Their win marks a continued display of strength following an earlier standout performance in the Northern Regional qualifiers, where they topped the scoreboard with 63 points to defeat Kalpohin SHS.
In today’s contest, Tamale Islamic maintained their lead from the early rounds and finished strongly with 41 points while Awe SHS had 18 and Lawra SHS had 17 points. Regentropfen SHS secured 14 points.
The result means Tamale Islamic Science SHS becomes the first school to secure a spot in the zonal semi-final, scheduled for Friday, July 19.
