A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has indicated that former President Nana Akufo-Addo is ready to apologise to Ghanaians.
According to him, the former President believes he did not effectively utilize the opportunity given him to serve the people and wishes to apologize.
The former MP for Mfantsiman West, popularly known as Asabee, indicated that the former president revealed his intentions in a meeting with some bigwigs in the party and took the highest blame for the party's defeat in the 2024 elections.
"I met Nana Addo in a meeting and he was worried and humbled by the 2024 defeat. He told me that we must all accept the responsibility for the party's defeat in the election, but he takes the highest blame," said Mr. Boateng.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Kwadwo Jantuah on Nhyira FM's Kuroyi Mu Nsem show, Mr. Asamoah Boateng indicated that the former president is looking for an opportunity to apologize to Ghanaians.
He revealed a plan to organise what he terms as an 'atonement rally' to plead for forgiveness from Ghanaians.
"After the meeting between ex-President Kufour and Akufo-Addo, there was a decision for the party to plan and organize an atonement rally in Ghana to say sorry to Ghanaians," Mr. Boateng indicated.
