The Western Regional Police Command has arrested one suspect in connection with a violent gold shop robbery in the Mpohor District that left one person injured on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Affairs Unit, a gang of armed robbers stormed a gold-buying shop, made away with an undisclosed amount of money, and inflicted injuries on one victim. The injured person is currently responding to treatment.
The police confirmed that one suspect is already in custody and is assisting with investigations, while efforts are underway to track down the remaining members of the gang.
Superintendent Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, Head of Public Affairs for the Western Region, assured the public that the perpetrators will be arrested and prosecuted.
“We would like to assure the public that the perpetrators will be arrested and be made to face justice,” the statement read.
The police are urging members of the public with relevant information to come forward to support ongoing investigations.
