Water supply has been restored to Dodowa and surrounding communities in the north-eastern part of Accra after a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station disrupted operations.
The incident, which caused significant damage to two of the station’s panels, temporarily interrupted the supply of water to the area.

Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, who visited the facility to assess the situation, commended the engineers on site for their swift response in containing the fire and preventing what could have been a more serious crisis.

According to the Station Manager, Mr Adolf Agbezuhlor, the fire was triggered by intermittent power fluctuations in the area on Thursday.
He noted that although supply was briefly affected, the damaged panels were promptly repaired, and normal operations have since resumed.
