MOBEX Africa has officially opened nominations for the MOBEX Africa Innovation Awards 2025, the continent’s premier recognition of technological excellence and digital innovation. The awards, featuring 22 competitive categories, will celebrate groundbreaking achievements driving Africa’s digital transformation and sovereignty.
Nominations are open until September 18, 2025, for innovators, leaders, startups, and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional impact on the continent’s technology ecosystem during 2024 and the first half of 2025.
The awards program spans three strategic tiers:
- Flagship Awards – celebrating ultimate innovation excellence, including Technology Innovation of the Year and sector-specific breakthroughs in fintech, health, education, agriculture, and governance.
- Leadership & Recognition – honouring outstanding technology leaders, innovation champions, and influential personalities shaping Africa’s digital future.
- Specialised Recognition – spotlighting achievements in mobile applications, cybersecurity, sustainability, and digital campaigns.

“This is where Africa’s tech titans are crowned,” said Kofi Boadi, Director of Communication and Events at MOBEX Africa. “The 2025 Innovation Awards mark a pivotal moment for our continent’s digital journey. We’re not just celebrating past successes — we’re elevating the innovations shaping Africa’s technological sovereignty and global digital leadership.”
The evaluation process includes rigorous assessments by a panel of industry experts, with shortlists announced in mid-September and final judging taking place in early October. Winners will be revealed during the MOBEX Africa Tech Expo & Innovation Conference, scheduled for October 7–10, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.
Nominations — including self-nominations, corporate entries, and third-party submissions — are open to innovators and organisations across all 54 African countries. Eligible entries must demonstrate measurable impact on Africa’s technology landscape within the eligibility period of January 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
