Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has been granted bail to the tune of GHs10 million.
This comes after he was arrested by officials of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on allegations of multiple financial crimes, including fraud, causing financial loss to the state, dissipation of public funds, and money laundering.
According to Deputy Attorney General Srem Sai, who disclosed the development on Facebook, Mr. Akpaloo was picked up on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
He has since been granted police bail under strict conditions, including a GHC 10 million bond with two sureties to be justified.
Despite the bail, the suspect remains in EOCO custody until the conditions are fully met.
Authorities say investigations into the case are ongoing.
