The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates.
In a press release issued on September 5, WAEC indicated that the results are now available on its official website www.waecgh.org and can be accessed online by candidates.
According to the Council, a total of 1,661 candidates entered for the private examination, comprising 858 males and 803 females.
The exam was conducted at 15 centres across the country. However, 33 candidates were recorded as absent.

WAEC revealed that the results of three candidates have been withheld due to suspected involvement in examination irregularities. These cases are currently under investigation.
Candidates affected by withheld or cancelled results are advised to visit https://litreg.waecgh.org and click on the withheld/cancelled button on the home page.
This, according to the Council, will direct them to a dedicated irregularity and investigations page, which provides detailed information on the status of their results and the next steps to be taken.
The Council has also issued a caution to the public, especially candidates and their families, to beware of fraudsters who promise to upgrade examination results for a fee.
“Candidates are to note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated,” the statement read.
WAEC reiterated its commitment to upholding the integrity and security of its examinations and urged all stakeholders to rely solely on official sources for information regarding results and related processes.
