The Ga Mashie Development Agency (GAMADA) has inaugurated its Steering Committee with a pledge to transform Ga Mashie into a hub of cultural pride, economic growth, and community empowerment.
The induction ceremony was held on at the GAMADA Secretariat in James Town, Accra.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Director of GAMADA, Dr. Alfred Kwanchie Dodoo, described the occasion as a turning point in the history of Ga Mashie.
He reaffirmed GAMADA’s vision of promoting education and skills training, youth and women empowerment, improved health and sanitation, cultural heritage preservation, and local economic development.
“GAMADA exists to serve as the bridge between our cherished traditions and modern development,” he said.
Adding, “With the commitment of these distinguished committee members, we are confident that Ga Mashie will take its rightful place as a model of resilience, innovation, and cultural pride in Ghana.”
The Oath of Office was administered by Mr. Musah Ziyad, Presiding Member of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, who charged the members to serve with integrity, accountability, and dedication to the aspirations of the Ga people.
Members appended their signatures to the Oath of Office and were presented with copies of their Mandate and Terms of Reference.
The Steering Committee, described as a team of “proven leaders,” brings together expertise from diverse sectors.
Members include Dr. Desmond Aryee-Boi, CEO of Resource Mobilization Foundation; Ag. Dr. Nana Sifa Twum, International Consultant and Board Chairman of the Ghana News Agency; Prof. Edmund Ameko, Lecturer and Director of the Accra Technical University Drone Centre; Nii Abeo Kyerekwanda V, Ga State Chief Fisherman.
Others are Manye Ananaa I, James Town Noyaa Manye, Hon. Carlos Nii Ayaa Mankattah, Assembly Member for Kinka Electoral Area, Hon. Festus Nii Ayi Hayford – Assembly Member for Ngleshie, Nii Codjoe Ankrah II, Traditional Leader and Social Housing Expert and Madam Kate Aku Tamakloe, CEO of Deo Gratias Studio.
The rest are Mr. Carl Sackey, Mr. Samuel Pappoe-Thompson, Mr. Henry Tettey Brown and Mr. Michael Nii Armah Tagoe, Country Representative, A-Tech Group Korea.
The ceremony was graced by notable personalities including Ebenezer Abossey Addo, Deputy Manager, 24-Hour Economy, AMA, Nii Harry Dodoo, Director, CARI.
Also, present were officials of GAMADA comprising Space Clottey, Deputy Executive Director, Samuel Nii Dodoo, Director of Operations, Dr. Ignatius Kwaku Donkoh, Director of International Relations, Nuumo Okassa Diaka III, Community Liaison Officer, and Lovia Dede Tetteh, Admin Secretary.
The induction, infused with the dignity of tradition and the vision of modern governance, marked the beginning of what observers described as a new dawn for Ga Mashie.
With a blend of traditional leadership, academic expertise, business acumen, and community activism, the Steering Committee is expected to guide GAMADA in delivering on its strategic objectives and meeting the cultural and developmental aspirations of the Ga people.
