MyJoy Online recently hosted Mr Oluwafemi Clement Adeusi, a UK-based Nigerian innovator and network security expert, in a virtual interview spotlighting his remarkable journey in the world of information technology and his groundbreaking contributions to Africa’s digital future.

Mr. Adeusi’s professional journey is one defined by resilience, vision, and leadership. He began his career in Nigeria as a Network Security Analyst at Heritage Bank PLC, where he oversaw network systems across Nigeria’s four eastern states—Abia, Enugu, Imo, and Anambra.

His role at the bank placed him at the forefront of safeguarding financial transactions and ensuring reliable digital operations across an expansive region. He later served as an IT Manager at High Tech Data System in Lagos, where he was responsible for developing and managing critical IT infrastructure that supported businesses in one of Africa’s largest commercial hubs.

In recognition of his contributions to leadership and technology, Mr. Adeusi was awarded the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity in 2021, an honour that rewarded his dedication not only to technical excellence but also to ethical leadership. This award marked a turning point in his career, positioning him as both a role model and a thought leader within Nigeria’s IT and security space.

During the interview, Mr. Adeusi also highlighted one of his most notable innovations—the Clefa Modem, introduced in 2022. The device is designed to tackle Nigeria’s longstanding mobile network instability by autonomously switching between different service providers to ensure seamless connectivity. Industry experts have described the Clefa Modem as a game-changer, capable of enhancing digital inclusion, strengthening fintech operations, and supporting broader socio-economic growth.

Giving his recommendation, “African governments and telecom regulators should invest in homegrown innovations like the Clefa Modem, which are designed with the continent’s unique connectivity challenges in mind.” He continued, “By prioritising indigenous solutions, Africa can reduce dependence on foreign technologies, strengthen data sovereignty, and foster local job creation in the tech sector.”

Speaking passionately, Mr Adeusi emphasised that his vision is not only to revolutionise connectivity in Nigeria but also to extend solutions that will impact Africa and the global network security industry.

Through his achievements, Mr Adeusi continues to inspire a new generation of African innovators determined to transform the continent’s digital landscape.
