Ghanaian midfielder Prosper Ahiabu played a decisive role on Saturday as VPS beat KTP 2–1 in the Veikkausliiga Relegation Group at Lemonsoft Stadion.
Ahiabu opened the scoring in the 11th minute, calmly finishing after a well-timed pass from Martti Haukioja.

The early breakthrough lifted the home side, who doubled their advantage in the 35th minute when Olli Jakonen converted from an Alfie Cicale assist.
KTP halved the deficit shortly after the restart, with Matias Paavola slotting home from an Assane Seck pass in the 61st minute.
However, VPS’s disciplined defending and organisation ensured they protected their lead through the closing stages to seal all three points.
The win strengthens VPS’s position in the Relegation Group and offers a timely boost ahead of their remaining fixtures.
For Ahiabu, the goal underlines his growing influence in midfield and his ability to deliver in key moments for the Vaasa club.
With form like this, Ahiabu is poised to remain a central figure in VPS’s push to consolidate their top-flight status.
