Nkrumahfest 2025 is underway in Nkroful, the birthplace of Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, as residents and visitors mark his 116th birthday with a week-long program of activities.
The celebration, which began on September 15, has already featured clean-up exercises, a soccer competition, and a student symposium.

Saturday's events include cultural displays, a durbar of chiefs at the NASS School Park, and exhibitions of food, music, and traditional art, all designed to celebrate Ghana’s history and identity while honoring Nkrumah’s legacy.

The festival will run until September 22 with a candlelight procession, thanksgiving service, and a grand musical concert bringing the activities to a close.

Organizers have also created a dedicated kids’ park with games and fun activities to ensure families and children are fully part of the celebration.
