The Judicial Service has announced the indefinite postponement of the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed High Court judges, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Jubilee House.
In a circular issued by the newly appointed Judicial Secretary, Musah Ahmed, the Service cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the postponement.
“You are to take notice that due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned swearing-in of newly selected High Court Judges scheduled to take place tomorrow, Thursday, 9th October 2025, at the Jubilee House has been postponed indefinitely. A new date will be communicated to you. Any inconvenience is sincerely regretted,” the circular stated.
The notice, copied to the Acting Chief Justice, the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, the Secretary to the President, and members of the Judicial Council, assured that a new date for the ceremony will be announced in due course.
The Service expressed regret over the development and extended kind regards to all affected judges.
