The Krachi East Municipality has taken a significant step towards enhancing community safety and well-being with the opening of a new fire service post at Katanga.
The ceremony, which took place on October 10, 2025, was presided over by Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Krachi East constituency, and marks a major milestone in the municipality's efforts to safeguard lives and property from fire-related hazards.
The new fire station will provide critical emergency response services to the community and is expected to expand the operational capabilities of the fire service within the municipality.

Assistant Divisional Fire Officer 1, Stephen Agortor, Krachi East Municipal Fire Commander, said the station will enable the fire service to respond more effectively to emergencies, thereby reducing the risk of loss of life and property.
Mr Djabab, who opened the facility, emphasised that it symbolises progress and development in the constituency. He noted that the fire station is a testament to his commitment to enhancing the quality of life for his constituents and ensuring their safety and well-being.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including the Municipal Chief Executive for Krachi East, Mr Sarfo Nketia, constituency chairman, Mr Dramani Sulemana, executive team members, and dedicated party faithful.
The people of Katanga expressed their gratitude for the MP's tireless efforts in improving their lives and applauded his exceptional leadership in delivering this much-needed facility.
