Former Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, continues to command overwhelming support within the party as 72 per cent of NPP voters who backed him in the 2024 general elections say they still prefer him to lead the party.
The latest Global InfoAnalytics poll, released on Monday, October 20, shows that only 20 per cent of those same voters now prefer Dr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (KOA), while others remain undecided.
The findings indicate that Dr Bawumia remains the clear favourite ahead of the NPP’s January 2026 presidential primaries.

In the party’s stronghold of the Ashanti Region, the former Vice President’s popularity appears even more entrenched, with 73 per cent of respondents maintaining their support for him compared to 20 per cent for Kennedy Ohene Agyepong.
The poll suggests that despite internal competition, the majority of NPP loyalists still see Dr Bawumia as the best candidate to unite the party and continue its transformational agenda.

Global InfoAnalytics noted that its October 2025 delegates’ polls will provide deeper insight into the evolving dynamics within the NPP.
“We are now assessing how many delegates who supported each of the leading candidates in previous internal elections will stick with them or switch their votes come January 2026,” the pollsters said.
The latest data, however, reaffirms Dr Bawumia’s commanding lead across both national and regional levels.
