Former Member of Parliament for Yendi, Dr Farouk Aliu Mahama, has expressed his appreciation after receiving a citation of honour from the Communication and Media Students Association (COMMSA) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
The award, according to the association, recognises his outstanding contributions and commitment to empowering young communication and media professionals across Ghana.
In a message shared following the presentation, Dr Mahama described the recognition as a humbling experience and a motivation to continue supporting youth development.
“According to them, the recognition is to appreciate me for my outstanding contributions and commitment to their cause and empowering young communication and media professionals in our country,” he stated.
Dr Mahama, known for his advocacy for youth empowerment and capacity building, reaffirmed his dedication to mentoring the next generation of professionals.
“This recognition will surely energise me to do more for the youth. I always feel it is worth sharing my support and uplifting young professionals,” he said, adding that investing in the potential of young people remains one of his core priorities.
He concluded by expressing deep gratitude to COMMSA and the University of Education, Winneba, for the honour.
“Once again, I am highly grateful. Thank you for believing in me always,” he said, urging young communicators to remain focused, ethical and innovative as they prepare to shape Ghana’s media and communication landscape.
