Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has described the 2026 Budget as a turning point in Ghana’s economic journey.
Presenting the budget in Parliament on Thursday, Dr Forson said, “Mr. Speaker, the 2026 Budget marks a decisive shift from recovery to transformation—from resilience to productivity, and from stability to jobs.”
Dr. Forson said the government’s focus over the next year and beyond will rest on three priorities: consolidating macroeconomic stability, accelerating economic transformation and job creation, and strengthening security and the social sector to promote inclusive growth.
He reaffirmed the government’s vision of “a Ghana that produces more than it consumes, exports value-added goods rather than raw materials, and creates decent jobs with rising incomes and shared opportunities for all.”
“Mr. Speaker, that is the Ghana we are building — a nation powered by discipline, driven by vision, and anchored on shared prosperity,” Dr. Forson added.
