The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has assured applicants that the newly launched centralised e-recruitment portal for security services is simple, accessible, and convenient, even for those with limited digital skills.
The portal covers recruitment for agencies under the Ministry of Interior, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service, as well as the Narcotics Control Commission, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the Gaming Commission of Ghana.
Speaking at a briefing in Accra on Friday, November 14, Mr Mubarak described the platform as “very user-friendly and easy to navigate,” stressing that even individuals not technologically inclined would face no difficulty completing applications.
“Even those of us who struggle with IT, in fact, I could go through it easily. So I can imagine, as for the Gen-Zs, that one will be a very smooth and easy exercise for them, allowing you to apply from the comfort of your home without any stress.”
He added that the portal is compatible across smartphones, tablets, and computers, ensuring applicants from diverse backgrounds can submit their applications without barriers.
Addressing concerns over past recruitment congestion, the Minister said the Ministry has revised its screening strategy to prevent overcrowding, particularly in high-population areas.
“One of the challenges that we have tried to revise in our strategy is the incident that unfortunately happened. For example, in Accra, where we expect to have more numbers, we are looking at possibly using ten to fifteen centres a day, such that we make sure there is no overcrowding at all.”
Mr Mubarak said screening centres will be strategically distributed nationwide to enhance accessibility, convenience, and safety, ensuring a more orderly and efficient recruitment process.
