World Vision Ghana has convened a multi-sector summit bringing together stakeholders from the creative arts and media industries to explore innovative ways of promoting improved hygiene across the country.
On the theme "Reawakening the nation's sanitation conscience: Unlocking the puzzle", the engagement forms part of activities marking this year’s World Toilet Day, which falls on Wednesday, November 19.

The summit created a collaborative platform for dialogue on strategies to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the target on clean water and sanitation, by 2030.
Participants deliberated on gaps within the hygiene ecosystem and the critical interventions required to drive behaviour change nationwide.
Speaking on behalf of the WASH Associate Director of World Vision Ghana, Robel L. Wamisho, the organisation’s WASH Technical Specialist, Yaw Attah Arhin, highlighted the urgent need for collective action to address poor sanitation practices.

He emphasised that heightened advocacy, strategic partnerships and sustained public education remain essential to tackling the sanitation challenges confronting communities.
A panel discussion also featured prominent voices from the sector, with experts sharing practical insights on innovative communication approaches to influence public behaviour.

Representatives from the Ghana Musicians Association, Ghana Film Makers Association and Actors, the New Media Association, influencers and journalists were present to lend their perspectives.
World Vision Ghana expressed confidence that the partnership with creatives and media practitioners will catalyse a national movement that inspires Ghanaians to adopt healthier hygiene practices and safeguard public health.
