The Concerned Kwahu Youth Association is celebrating the return of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II after the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs upheld him as the legitimate overlord of the Kwahu Traditional Area.
In a statement issued on Friday by Okouba Gyasi, Chairman of the Concerned Kwahu Youth Association, the group said it “hails and do celebrate the return” of the chief, describing the ruling as timely and necessary.
The association praised the House of Chiefs for what it called a bold judgment, including the restraining order issued against what it referred to as “illegitimate intruders and their agents, assigns and privies.”
According to the youth group, the long-running dispute “shouldn’t have happened to begin with.”
They also commended the Inspector General of Police for the swift intervention that restored calm at the Kwahuhene Palace in Abene.
The statement applauded the “courage and sacrifices” of Kwahu chiefs and highlighted Daasebre’s diplomatic efforts in restoring Kwahu traditions.
The group further acknowledged the patience of the people of Kwahu, noting their “tenacity in keeping the peace even under undue provocation.”
They believe the chief’s return will “usser [usher] our cherished Kwahu state into stability, prosperity and togetherness.”
The association cautioned against political interference, insisting that “self-serving politicians” must not be allowed to meddle in Kwahu traditional matters.
It condemned individuals within the area who, in its view, try to remain relevant by being “distractive to the forward movement of the Kwahu State.”
The statement ended with a warning that members “on the side of truth will continue to defend the traditions of Kwahu and its customs with our very last drop of blood.”

We, the Concerned Kwahu Youth Association, hail and do celebrate the return of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II after the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs upheld his legitimacy as the rightful overlord of the Kwahu traditional area.
We also congratulate the House of Chiefs for their bold judgment delivered, and the restraining order against the illegitimate intruders and their agents, assigns and privies.
This decision couldn't have come at a better time - Indeed, the whole charade regarding the Kwahuhene situation shouldn't have happened to begin with.
We also commend the Inspector General of Police for the swift manner his men restored law and order at Kwa-huhene Palace at Abene.
Furthermore, we celebrate the courage and sacrifices of our brave chiefs, along with Daasebre's diplomatic efforts in the restoration of our cherished Kwahu traditions, and also commend the people of Kwahu for their patience and tenacity in keeping the peace even under undue provocation.
Kwahu youths are convinced that Osagyefo’s return will usher our cherished Kwahu state into stability, prosperity and togetherness.
As Kwahus, we must never again allow self-serving politicians to meddle in our traditional affairs.
We can't continue to suffer individuals in and around the Kwahu area who are hoping to stay relevant by being distracting to the forward movement of the Kwahu State.
At this juncture, we want to sound a note of caution to all concerned and warn that those of us on the side of truth will continue to defend the traditions of Kwahu and its customs with our very last drop of blood.
Signed:
Okouba Gyasi - Chairman - Concerned Kwahu Youth Association
