Team Boomers emerged triumphant at the maiden ABF 3X3 Tournament, held on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at the University of Ghana Basketball Court, as part of the launch of the Africa Basketball Festival (ABF) 2025.
The fast-paced competition featured five teams — Team Boomers, Team OTE, Team Icons, Team Olenge and Team Iso 308 — each fighting to make an early statement at what is set to become a major fixture on the African basketball calendar.
Across a series of intense match-ups and high-energy displays, Team Boomers proved the standout performers of the evening. The quartet of Kelvin Jones, David Jackson, Samuel Atiapah and Bamba Salia combined fluid team play with clinical execution, securing three victories and finishing well ahead of their rivals.
Their dominance was sealed in the final encounter, where they overpowered Team Icons with a commanding 19–7 win. The result capped an impressive run built on cohesion and collective strength rather than isolated individual brilliance.
For their victory, Team Boomers received a GH₵2,000 cash prize alongside product packages from sponsors Verna Mineral Water, Tonino Lamborghini Energy Drink and Minimie Atsomo. All participating teams were also presented with branded gifts and merchandise.
The successful debut of the ABF 3X3 Tournament marks a significant step forward for the Africa Basketball Festival, strengthening its mission to promote basketball culture, nurture emerging youth talent and elevate sports entertainment across the continent.
