The President of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA), Alex Kukula, has expressed great satisfaction with the successful staging of the 2025 Africa Basketball Festival (ABF), describing it as a landmark event for the growth of basketball in the region.
The GBBA President commended RITE Sports Services and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for their professionalism and commitment, highlighting the seamless coordination of the event.
“RITE Sports Services has established itself as a leader in the sports marketing and organization space in Ghana so expected this high-level competition and engagement”, he stated.
He congratulated the Nigerian team for their outstanding performance and competitive display throughout the tournament, noting that the quality of play reflected the rapid development of basketball across Africa.
He also praised Spintex Knights for winning the maiden edition of the Bitcoin Classics, which was hosted Accra for the first time.
Alex further applauded the fans whose passionate support created an exciting atmosphere and contributed significantly to the success of the festival.
He also called for sports events to be formally integrated into the “December in Ghana” activities, emphasizing that competitions like ABF can boost tourism, promote youth engagement, and strengthen Ghana’s position as a regional hub for sports and entertainment during the festive season.
He also underscored the importance of strong partnerships among sports federations, corporate sponsors, and event organizers to sustain such initiatives and expand their impact.
The GBBA President concluded by reaffirming GBBA’s commitment to supporting all basketball events and working with stakeholders to ensure that sports play a central role in Ghana’s December celebrations.
