Nigerian music legend Mr P has urged Ghanaians to support their own artistes, stating that Nigeria did it for him and others.

He threw his weight behind Ghanaian artistes, encouraging them to take their music to Nigeria and sell out stadiums.

In an interview with JoyNews, after his stellar performance at Stonebwoy's BHIM Festival, Mr P expressed his desire to see Ghanaian artistes cross borders and sell out venues in Nigeria, just like Nigerian artistes do in Ghana.

"Because I know that if Burna Boy, Wiz, Davido and the rest of them come here, they'll sell out. But we want to see the same thing happen back home in Nigeria where Ghanaian artistes come to sell out," Mr. P said.

He emphasised the need for a healthy competition that promotes culture, music, and sound, rather than online back-and-forth.

Mr P also noted that Ghanaians are more focused on petty online banters rather than promoting the music.

“You guys are so focused on the stuff going on, what happens to the main bowl of contention which is the music? Push these guys. Competition is good but make it a healthy one."

Mr. P's comments come after his advice to Ghanaian artistes on the importance of supporting each other for a better industry during his impressive performance at the BHIM Festival, which saw Stonebwoy celebrate a decade of musical dominance.

The event featured top Ghanaian and international artistes, including Mr. P, Fantan Mojah, and Kwabena Kwabena .
