The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the resolution of a technical challenge that had affected customers using MMS-compliant prepaid meters, restoring the ability of affected users to purchase electricity credits.
In a public notice issued on Monday, December 29, 2025, ECG said the challenge, which disrupted the purchase of power credits for MMS-compliant meters, has now been fully resolved.
According to the power distribution company, customers can once again successfully buy electricity credits using the ECG Power App, the short code *226#, as well as through authorised third-party vendors.
The power distributor expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and cooperation during the period of disruption, assuring the public of its continued commitment to improving service delivery.
“Help ECG to serve you better,” the notice concluded, reaffirming the company’s appeal for continued customer support as it works to enhance efficiency and reliability across its operations.
