The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) represented the nation well at the just-ended 36th Men’s and 27th Women’s Africa Cup for Club Championships in Zambia, as the women’s and men’s teams finished with silver and bronze respectively.
The GRA women narrowly missed out on retaining their title after suffering a 2–0 shootout defeat to Kenya’s Lakers following a 1–1 draw in regulation time.
The result saw the ladies settle for the silver medal, finishing second overall in the competition.
On the men’s side, GRA bounced back strongly after missing the final with a 1–0 loss to Egypt’s Port Fouad.
They showed resilience in the third-place playoff, holding hosts Hippo Club of Zimbabwe to a 2–2 stalemate in regulation time before winning 2–1 in the shootout to secure the bronze medal.
Speaking to JoySports, Ebenezer Frimpong, Head of the GRA Sports Unit and leader of the Ghanaian delegation, praised the teams’ efforts despite falling short of gold.
